Jutta Müller’s World

Jutta Müller’s World

The figure skating coach Jutta Müller (1928–2023) lived from the early 1960s until shortly before her death in a prefabricated apartment building at Goetheplatz. At the request of her descendants, and in keeping with the wishes of the committed Chemnitz resident and former citizen of Karl-Marx-Stadt, the Schloßbergmuseum incorporated her estate into its city history collections.

The exhibition presents parts of this collection to the public for the first time, including sports memorabilia, personal belongings, and numerous photographs that trace the life of this skating icon — from early childhood to the pinnacle of international sport.

At the heart of the exhibition is a reconstruction of the legendary “Blue Salon” — the family’s formal living room, furnished with pieces acquired by Jutta Müller’s parents in 1930.
