Laufmaschen
Based on the region’s industrial and social history, the project focuses on the phenomenon of the ladder—a continuous, defective change in the fabric structure of knitwear. The ladder becomes a concept and a symbol for the individual artworks, as well as for the exhibition project itself. The contributions appear at different times in different locations in the museums. The works deal with the material, production conditions, errors and disruptions, gender roles, and social processes and transformations.
An artistic intervention by the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden on the occasion of the European Capital of Culture 2025 in cooperation with Technische Universität Chemnitz, Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz – Museum Gunzenhauser and Industriemuseum Chemnitz.
