The exhibition Beyond Geometry. Frei Otto x Kengu Kuma explores the links between resource-saving architecture and innovative design. The aim of this workshop is for teams to build the most impressive bridge out of uncooked spaghetti. Will a particularly lightweight construction be the winner or will stability be the deciding factor? And which bridge will impress with its elegant design? Everyone is cordially invited to build and cheer along!

Participants will learn the basic principles of bridge construction and statics in a creative and fun way, while constructing functional bridge models from the favourite Italian pasta. The aim is to understand how the planning process for bridges works, what needs to be considered and to explore Frei Otto’s creative approach.

  • Admission

    General admission 10 Euros, reduced admission 6,50 Euros

    For children and adolescents through age 17, as well as for students of the Technical University Chemnitz, holders of a Chemnitzpass, and chaperones to severely handicapped persons, admission is always free.
