We cordially invite you to the public guided tour in English on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 at 5:30 pm at the Museum Gunzenhauser. The guided tour will take place in the exhibition Best Of. Curator’s favorites. Explore the highlights of Alfred Gunzenhauser’s collection on a guided tour. In addition to exciting expressionist works and an impressive presentation of Otto Dix, the exhibition invites you to discover unusual formats, materials and previously unseen treasures.

Further dates can be found in our calendar of events. Participation in all public guided tours is included in museum admission.

Public tours are limited to a maximum of 24 people. We recommend booking in advance! We cordially request groups of 10 or more to pre-book guided tours due to the group size. Guided tours can be booked at info.kunstsammlungen@stadt-chemnitz.de. Price: 60 euros, reduced 35 euros per booked guided tour. Thank you very much! Thank you very much!

Wir laden Sie herzlich zur öffentlichen Führung in englischer Sprache am Mittwoch, den 4. Dezember 2024, um 17:30 Uhr in das Museum Gunzenhauser ein. Die Führung findet in der Ausstellung Best Of. Curator’s favorites statt. Begegnen Sie bei einem gemeinsamen Rundgang den Highlights der Sammlung Alfred Gunzenhausers. Neben spannenden expressionistischen Werken, sowie einer umfangreichen Präsentation von Otto Dix, lädt die Ausstellung zum Entdecken von ungewöhnlichen Formaten, Materialien und bisher ungezeigten Schätzen ein.

Weitere Termine finden Sie in unserem Veranstaltungskalender. Die Teilnahme an allen öffentlichen Führungen ist im Museumseintritt enthalten.

Öffentliche Führungen sind auf maximal 24 Personen begrenzt. Wir empfehlen eine Anmeldung! Gruppen ab 10 Personen bitten wir, Führungen aufgrund der begrenzten Gruppenstärke vorzubestellen. Führungsbestellungen sind möglich unter info.kunstsammlungen@stadt-chemnitz.de. Preis: 60 Euro, ermäßigt 35 Euro pro bestellter Führung. Vielen Dank!

Accessibility

For barrier-free access, a visitor guidance system with an inclusive floor guidance system, orientation boards with Braille and pyramid writing and an elevator at ground level to all exhibition floors are available at Theaterplatz. Further information can be found at inclusion and accessibility.

Museum Gunzenhauser

The Museum Gunzenhauser houses the collection of the Munich gallery owner Dr. Alfred Gunzenhauser and holds more than 3,000 works by 270 artists, including works of classic modern art and from the second half of the 20th century. The owner is the Gunzenhauser Foundation.

Schloßbergmuseum

The Museum of History of the City of Chemnitz is housed in one of the most beautiful and best-preserved monastery sites in Saxony. Around 1135, Emperor Lothar ordered to build a Benedictine monastery on a ridge above the Chemnitz River, which would exist until the age of Reformation.

Rabenstein Castle

Rabenstein Castle is located in the Rabenstein district of Chemnitz and forms part of the Schloßbergmuseum. It was built in the second half of the 12th century during the settlement of the foothills of the Erzgebirge mountains. The frequently used nickname »Saxony’s smallest castle« is somewhat misleading in that the buildings still standing today make up only the heart of a formerly much larger complex.

Henry van de Velde Museum

Villa Esche was planned by the Belgian architect and designer Henry van de Velde in 1902 as a family home for the Chemnitz-based textile manufacturer Herbert Esche. Henry van de Velde (1863–1957) was one of the most highly-regarded figures in European art in the early 20th century.
