Werdet auf unserer After-Work-Party selbst kreativ, genießt die entspannte Atmosphäre und macht das Treppenhaus zum Dancefloor.

Bei unserem Format Dance and Draw besteht nicht nur die Möglichkeit den Tag mit den Beats unserer professionellen DJ ausklingen zu lassen. Große Staffeleien laden zugleich zum spontanen Zeichnen ein. Auf diese Weise wird das große Treppenhaus der Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz für einen Abend zum offenen Atelier für alle, die Lust auf Kreativität und Austausch haben.

Lasst euch dabei von unseren aktuellen Sonderausstellungen Mythos und Allegorien des Lebens inspirieren, die heute länger für euch geöffnet sind. Das Thema Mythos zieht sich als roter Faden durch beide Ausstellungen. Als Botschafter von grundlegenden Wahrheiten thematisieren Mythen nicht nur Personen von weltgeschichtlicher Bedeutung, sondern symbolisieren jeweils auch das Ringen um Wandlung und Werdegang jedes Einzelnen.

Accessibility

For barrier-free access, a visitor guidance system with an inclusive floor guidance system, orientation boards with Braille and pyramid writing and an elevator at ground level to all exhibition floors are available at Theaterplatz. Further information can be found at inclusion and accessibility.

Museum Gunzenhauser

The Museum Gunzenhauser houses the collection of the Munich gallery owner Dr. Alfred Gunzenhauser and holds more than 3,000 works by 270 artists, including works of classic modern art and from the second half of the 20th century. The owner is the Gunzenhauser Foundation.

Schloßbergmuseum

The Museum of History of the City of Chemnitz is housed in one of the most beautiful and best-preserved monastery sites in Saxony. Around 1135, Emperor Lothar ordered to build a Benedictine monastery on a ridge above the Chemnitz River, which would exist until the age of Reformation.

Rabenstein Castle

Rabenstein Castle is located in the Rabenstein district of Chemnitz and forms part of the Schloßbergmuseum. It was built in the second half of the 12th century during the settlement of the foothills of the Erzgebirge mountains. The frequently used nickname »Saxony’s smallest castle« is somewhat misleading in that the buildings still standing today make up only the heart of a formerly much larger complex.

Henry van de Velde Museum

Villa Esche was planned by the Belgian architect and designer Henry van de Velde in 1902 as a family home for the Chemnitz-based textile manufacturer Herbert Esche. Henry van de Velde (1863–1957) was one of the most highly-regarded figures in European art in the early 20th century.
