We invite you to an guided tour of the exhibition Best Of II – Visitor’s Choice on Saturday, 11 October at 1 p.m. at the Gunzenhauser Museum.
In autumn the Gunzenhauser Museum will be hosting an unusual participatory exhibition format: visitors themselves are invited to redefine the Gunzenhauser Museum and jointly create a place for discussion and exchange. Two rooms will be implemented by the museum’s youth council. A group of interested Chemnitz residents, artistically active people and initiatives from the city are also involved. Through this participatory process, the museum aims to become more open and learn from the diverse voices for its future work.
In addition, an interactive and playfully designed floor invites visitors to get to know various artists from the Gunzenhauser Collection and their techniques more closely and to become creative themselves: from collage techniques or the combination of music and art, to the haptic experience of artworks, to painting as a physical act or the combination of text and painting – there is something for everyone here.
From November 2025, the third floor of the museum will open to a selection of museum visitors’ favourite pictures. Here, a very personal approach to the artworks will be presented, providing further insight into the diverse collection
