Eröffnung der Ausstellung Erdarbeiten III – Priska Engelhardt in der Galerie GLASKASTEN (Klub Solitaer e.V.)

Die Ausstellung ist Teil des Public Art-Projektes NEW ECOLOGIES. Gegenwarten II und ist bis zum 15.9.2024 zu sehen.

Priska Engelhardts künstlerischer Fokus liegt auf den Beziehungen zwischen Tieren und Menschen und der Freude, Zuneigung und Nähe, die dabei entstehen können. Der regelmäßige Umgang mit Tieren inspiriert sie zu unterschiedlichen spielerischen Herangehensweisen mit veränderlichen Materialien wie Ton, Porzellan oder auch Textilien. Engelhardt nutzt sowohl digitale Methoden als auch popkulturelle Hobbytechniken und bestimmte pneumatische Maschinen. Dabei recherchiert sie ausführlich, weshalb ihre endgültigen Werke oft unvorhersehbare Richtungen nehmen.

Museum Gunzenhauser

The Museum Gunzenhauser houses the collection of the Munich gallery owner Dr. Alfred Gunzenhauser and holds more than 3,000 works by 270 artists, including works of classic modern art and from the second half of the 20th century. The owner is the Gunzenhauser Foundation.

Schloßbergmuseum

The Museum of History of the City of Chemnitz is housed in one of the most beautiful and best-preserved monastery sites in Saxony. Around 1135, Emperor Lothar ordered to build a Benedictine monastery on a ridge above the Chemnitz River, which would exist until the age of Reformation.

Rabenstein Castle

Rabenstein Castle is located in the Rabenstein district of Chemnitz and forms part of the Schloßbergmuseum. It was built in the second half of the 12th century during the settlement of the foothills of the Erzgebirge mountains. The frequently used nickname »Saxony’s smallest castle« is somewhat misleading in that the buildings still standing today make up only the heart of a formerly much larger complex.

Henry van de Velde Museum

Villa Esche was planned by the Belgian architect and designer Henry van de Velde in 1902 as a family home for the Chemnitz-based textile manufacturer Herbert Esche. Henry van de Velde (1863–1957) was one of the most highly-regarded figures in European art in the early 20th century.
