Wir laden Sie herzlich zur öffentlichen Kuratorinnenführung durch die Ausstellung frank maibier. tritt tratt am Freitag, den 27. März 2026 um 16 Uhr in die Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz ein.

In der Kuratorinnenführung mit Shao-Min Sun werden die zentralen Aspekte der Ausstellung von Frank Maibier vertieft: der experimentelle Umgang mit Material, die Erforschung von Klang und Schrift sowie das Spiel mit Fragilität, Instabilität und Transformation. Anhand ausgewählter Arbeiten aus drei Jahrzehnten gibt die Führung Einblicke in Maibiers künstlerische Prozesse, seine Techniken des Faltens, Perforierens und Überlagerns sowie in seinen besonderen Umgang mit Sprache als bildhaftem Material.

Öffentliche Führungen sind auf maximal 24 Personen begrenzt. Wir bitten um Buchung der Tickets über unseren online Ticket-Shop, den Sie auf unserer Website rechts als Reiter finden. Gruppen ab 10 Personen bitten wir Führungen aufgrund der begrenzten Gruppenstärke vorzubestellen. Vielen Dank!

Accessibility

For barrier-free access, a visitor guidance system with an inclusive floor guidance system, orientation boards with Braille and pyramid writing and an elevator at ground level to all exhibition floors are available at Theaterplatz. Further information can be found at inclusion and accessibility.

Museum Gunzenhauser

The Museum Gunzenhauser houses the collection of the Munich gallery owner Dr. Alfred Gunzenhauser and holds more than 3,000 works by 270 artists, including works of classic modern art and from the second half of the 20th century. The owner is the Gunzenhauser Foundation.

Schloßbergmuseum

The Museum of History of the City of Chemnitz is housed in one of the most beautiful and best-preserved monastery sites in Saxony. Around 1135, Emperor Lothar ordered to build a Benedictine monastery on a ridge above the Chemnitz River, which would exist until the age of Reformation.

Rabenstein Castle

Rabenstein Castle is located in the Rabenstein district of Chemnitz and forms part of the Schloßbergmuseum. It was built in the second half of the 12th century during the settlement of the foothills of the Erzgebirge mountains. The frequently used nickname »Saxony’s smallest castle« is somewhat misleading in that the buildings still standing today make up only the heart of a formerly much larger complex.

Henry van de Velde Museum

Villa Esche was planned by the Belgian architect and designer Henry van de Velde in 1902 as a family home for the Chemnitz-based textile manufacturer Herbert Esche. Henry van de Velde (1863–1957) was one of the most highly-regarded figures in European art in the early 20th century.
