Artist Talk: Mit Stephanie Dost, Anna Kautenburger, Roswitha Maul, Filipa Pontes und Lisa Marie Schmitt

In the intervention Reactive Museum, five contemporary artists each present their own perspective on the collection and selected works. Using different methods, they open up new approaches to content and thus expand the interpretative scope of the exhibition.

You are cordially invited to experience a guided tour with the artists and engage in conversation with them about their work and motivations.

Stephanie Dost (*1980), born in Rochlitz and raised in Geithain, is a painter based in Leipzig. Her work, which is strongly influenced by drawing, comprises installation-based groups of images with diverse motifs, drawn from a broad archive of contemporary image sources.

Anna Kautenburger (*1980) works as a media artist and media educator in Leipzig. Her work is cross-media and includes animations as well as video installations, performances and classical artistic techniques.

Roswitha Maul (*1982) Born in Leipzig, the artist lives in Dresden. She is co-founder of Zentralwerk Dresden and a member of the Leipzig Artists’ Network. She deals with a wide range of socio-political issues.

Filipa Pontes (*1978) is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist who focuses intensively on collaborative processes and research, expanding contemporary drawing through immersive, evocative and critical approaches.

Lisa Marie Schmitt (*1991) Lisa Marie Schmitt is a visual artist and filmmaker. In her work groups, she combines filmic works with sculptures, objects and photographs to explore socio-political themes.
