Project manager (f/m/d) wanted for the outreach project of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz “Pavilion of Fear”

The Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz are inviting tenders for the project management, program development and program implementation of “Pavilion of Fear” from the earliest possible date. In line with the motto of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 “C the Unseen”, the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz are devoting themselves to a topic in society that is not always visible, but nevertheless omnipresent: fear. In reference to the exhibition “Edvard Munch. Fear”, which will be shown in the art collections on Theaterplatz from 10 August 2025, a mobile meeting space ‘Pavilion of Fear’ will enable citizens and tourists to actively participate in a diverse, creative program. For the management and implementation of this project, we are looking for a well-connected person in Chemnitz who will develop and implement programs for the “Pavilion of Fear” in the summer of 2025. From 10 June to 21 July 2025, the pavilion will move around the city of Chemnitz to five different locations and offer a program on three days each: Discussion formats with local associations, art therapy, music therapy, readings, cinema in dialog and the like.
The prerequisite is that the contractor has a democratic attitude. Experience in social pedagogy, social work, psychology or art therapy is also a prerequisite. Communication and mediation skills are essential for working with the various target groups.

A) The advertised service includes

Project coordination and management “Pavilion of Fear” with low-threshold contact offers and short-term interventions
Further development and consolidation of the program with regard to event formats, partners, definition of needs groups and objectives of the “Pavilion of Fear” in coordination with the Chemnitz Art Collections
Securing the opening hours of the “Pavilion of Fear” (expected to be open for a total of 20 hours per week in June and July) with advice and individual assistance for visitors
Development and implementation of target group-oriented communication with an external graphics agency with regard to flyers, posters, website and social media channels, etc., as well as their implementation (in each case with the involvement of the Public Relations Department of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz)

B) Documents required for submitting a proposal:

Short CV (max. 2 DIN A4 pages) with proof of a state-recognized degree in social pedagogy or art therapy or a degree in educational science/pedagogy
Please name at least one project (reference) from the last 5 years that is comparable in terms of scope and task, which also demonstrates experience in concept and project work.
Price per hour and price per month assuming 80 hours/month (net and gross).

The offer must be adequate in that the opening hours to be covered and the other requirements (point A) are included in the 80 hours per month.

Please submit a quotation including VAT and all ancillary costs. The Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz will commission the graphic designer itself; these costs are not part of the offer.

C) Performance period: at the earliest possible date after award of contract until 30.9.2025.

D) Award criteria: When awarding the contract, the client shall apply the following criteria: 60% price of the offer, 40% references and networking

E) Once the contract has been awarded, a contract for work and services will be concluded between the two parties on an independent basis.
