We pay tribute to influential artists such as Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Henry van de Velde, uncover European networks of realism, and examine the architectural and social history of the city.
Among the highlights are the exhibition »European Realities«, which presents the diversity of European realism from the 1920s and 1930s in an unprecedented scope, and »Edvard Munch – Angst«, which connects the emotional power of Munch’s work with contemporary perspectives.
