Welcome to the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Haus!

Our sixth house, the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Haus, was officially opened at the weekend! At the opening ceremony at Clubkino Siegmar, Minister President Michael Kretschmer emphasized the importance of the new building for Chemnitz and Saxony. Mayor Sven Schulze praised the successful cooperation of all those involved. Another highlight was the premiere of the film “Karl Schmidt-Rottluff: Passion and Rebellion” – a cooperation between ARTE and MDR. Thanks to everyone who attended despite the cold weather! You can find more information about the exhibition here.

The Karl Schmidt-Rottluff House will be open to visitors from April 8, 2025. The new Chemnitz museum welcomes you from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 11 am to 6 pm. It is closed on December 24 and 31. Admission is €6 regular, €4 reduced.

Public guided tours take place every Sunday at 2 pm and 2:45 pm, providing a compact insight into the house and the life of Karl Schmidt-Rottluff.
