Are you between 14 and 27 years old and have an eye for the places in this city that others overlook? Then we have something for you.
As part of the exhibition Architectural Agonies in Light and Shadow. Abandoned and Lost Buildings in Chemnitz by Christian Sünderwald, we are looking for your perspectives on Chemnitz. Abandoned corners, favourite places, spaces of tranquillity, or sites of pure fascination – show us how you see your city.
What can you submit?
A photograph, painting, graphic artwork, or drawing that explores Chemnitz as a place. The format should fit on an easel and must not exceed A1 size (59.4 × 84.1 cm). Please also include a few lines about yourself and your idea (maximum half an A4 page).
How to submit?
Send your submission by email to info.kunstsammlungen@stadt-chemnitz.de – including an image of your work and a short text. The file must be in PDF format and no larger than 5 MB.

3 August, 11:59 pm. Unfortunately, we cannot consider submissions received after this deadline.
What’s in it for you?
The 10 most exciting submissions will be selected and must be delivered to us as exhibition objects (painting, photo print, USB stick, etc.) from 12 August onwards. They will then be displayed in the Lapidarium of the Schloßberg Museum from 15 August to 20 September. As a bonus, you’ll receive free admission to the Young Art Night.
And if your work doesn’t make it into the Top 10, there’s no need to be disappointed: all submissions will be shown as a projection in the museum courtyard on the opening night – provided you agree to this.
