Public guided tours
Public guided tours of the permanent and special exhibitions of the Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz and the Museum Gunzenhauser take place regularly at weekends. Special guided tours by curators are also offered.
In the Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz and the Museum Gunzenhauser, lectures, artist talks and similar events are usually held on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.
Participation in all public tours is free of charge – you only need to pay for admission to the museum.
The public guided tours in German usually take place on Saturdays as follows:
Museum Gunzenhauser: 2:30 p.m., at the exhibition Best of II: 2:00 pm
Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz: 4:00 p.m.
The public guided tours in German on Sundays usually take place as follows:
Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz: 2:30 p.m.
Museum Gunzenhauser: 4:00 p.m.
Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Haus: 2:00 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
The guided tours are limited to a maximum of 24 people. Due to the limited capacity of the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Haus, a maximum of 8 people can take part. Booked tours
Groups of ten or more people must pre-book guided tours, as due to the limited group size (max. 24 people) it is not possible to take part in public guided tours. Guided tours can be booked at info.kunstsammlungen@stadt-chemnitz.de.
Price: 84 euros for booked tours in English and other foreign languages, 70 euros for booked tours in German, both plus entrance fee.
