Inclusion and Barrier-free Accessibility

The museums of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz see themselves as inclusive institutions making offers that are accessible to a wide range of people with different needs and that entail a basic added value for everyone.

At the Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz and at the Museum Gunzenhauser, access to the public services areas and to the galleries is barrier-free. Mobile seats are also available for visitors.

At the Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz, parking spaces for the disabled are situated on the first basement floor of the underground car park. The Museum Gunzenhauser has such parking spaces at ground level directly adjacent to the museum.

The Schloßbergmuseum ensures barrier-free access to service areas and the galleries of the permanent exhibition. For persons with physical restrictions, access and parking are available directly in front of the museum. Please activate the call button at the barrier. Entry is possible via Salzstraße.

The Henry van de Velde Museum in the Villa Esche is accessible for wheelchairs as far as the second floor. Since access is by means of a wheelchair-lift, advance notification is required. There is a parking lot for the disabled about 30 metres away from the entrance.
