In order to be able to preserve the extensive holdings of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz for the future, we have five specific restoration workshops for the different collection areas.
Our restorers are in charge of all conservational and restoration aspects in connection with exhibitions and lending activities.
There is a separate workshop each for paintings and textiles, two for works on paper, and one for the restoration of metal works. These workshops are located in the individual museums of the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz. Each workshop has a qualified restorer. All the restorers have completed an academic study in their respective area.
