14–18 WAR WAS. Shooting with Light
52 Pictures from 52 Months of World War I

With 14–18 WAR WAS. Shooting with Light, one of the most unusual exhibition projects in Chemnitz in recent years reaches an interim conclusion. Since August 2014 a photograph reflecting the events of the period 1914 to 1918 with comprehensive comments has been presented every month. The photographs show what the population of Chemnitz could experience of the war in each respective month, from apparently mundane everyday occurrences in the city to horror at the front. Now all 52 photographs have been brought together for the first time.

The project 14–18 WAR WAS – Shared Recollections is a collaboration between the Schloßbergmuseum and the Romance Cultural Studies faculty of the Chemnitz University of Technology.
