The artist Jay Gard (born 1984), who grew up in Chemnitz, shows works made especially for this exhibition, all of whom make a direct reference to the collection of Dr. Alfred Gunzenhauser. To this end, the artist selected Gabriele Münter’s Herbstliches Blumenstillleben (c. 1912) and used this as the basis for his colour wheels, geometric colour objects, and sculptures. He engages in this way with questions about colour systems and how they are perceived.

In the series Young Contemporary Art from Saxony, young female and male artists are given the opportunity to have their first solo show in a museum. The aim is not only to promote a new generation of artists in Saxony but also to present contemporary artistic positions and questions.
