The Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz has a vacancy for a trainee position in the area of “Digital Collection Management, Digital Communication and Outreach” for a period of two years.
The Chemnitz Art Collections are among the most important municipal museums in Germany. Its four museums – the Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz with the Carlfriedrich Claus Archive, the Museum Gunzenhauser, the Schloßbergmuseum and the Henry van de Velde Museum – make a significant contribution to the cultural wealth of the European Capital of Culture 2025 and the entire Free State of Saxony with their collections and the exhibition, mediation and event programme.
The traineeship offers the opportunity to get to know the work in a museum in the areas of digital collection management and digital communication and to deepen existing knowledge in this regard. The position is at the interface between science, documentation and communication and is mainly assigned to the Press and Public Relations department in close cooperation with the Documentation department. During their training, the volunteers will, of course, also gain insight into the other areas of the museum.
The gross monthly salary is 1,708.68 € (from 01.07.2022: 1,813.30 €).
